I am a Ph.D. holder in Computer Science from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland since 2006. My Ph. D. subject is ‘A study of the evolution of the models for document recognition written in Arabic within an interactive context’. I am holder of a Master in Modelling and Management Information Systems; and a Bachelor in Management Information Systems from the Higher Institute of Management of Tunis, Tunisia.
I have been involved in many projects with industry (Tunisian Banks, Tunisia Ministry of Higher Education) either as consultant or as a programmer.
I have rewritten the entire course syllabus and the Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) of all the courses within my department. I have been member and/or chair of several university level committees dealing with quality assurance and curriculum review during several quality assurance review including both programme review as well as institutional review. Ahlia University is the first and best private university in Bahrain based on the Quality Assurance Authority classification. I conducted successfully, in October 2013, the quality team for the Programmes-within-College Review (PWCR) by the Directorate of Higher Reviews (DHR) of the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (NAQQAET), Bahrain.
During many years I have had the opportunity to work among a very active research team at DIVA Lab and I have contributed to these following projects: DocMining (Collaboration with France Telecom 2003-2004), XED (since 2004). These projects Teachingwere funded by Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF).
I have taught in the following Universities since 1995:
Higher Institute of Management of Tunis, Tunisia;
Higher Institute of Animation and Culture, Tunisia;
University of Fribourg, Switzerland;
Higher Institute of Computer Science, Tunisia.
In Mid 2007 I moved to AHLIA University, Bahrain in the gulf region where I have been heading the multimedia science department.
I have supervised a lot of students into either final project (BSc) or master dissertation (MSc).
