Biography

Abdulla Ahmed Alderazi is a lecturer at the Department of Mathematical Studies, Foreign Languages and General Studies since 2013 and teaches English for specific purposes. He holds a Bachelor Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Basrah, in1979 Iraq. He obtained his master degree from the University of Warwick, in 1988. the United Kingdom.  Before joining Ahlia University, he worked as lecturer at the University of Bahrain, Department of English from 1993 – 2013.

In the community service field, Abdulla was elected as the Assistant Secretary General of Bahrain Human Rights Society in 2004 and then the Secretary General in 2006 – 2010. He was appointed by HM King Hamad bin Isa Alkhalifa as a commissioner in the Bahrain National Institution of Human Rights, 2010 -2012. From 2013 to 2019, he was elected as the vice-chairman of the National Institution of Human Rights. He was also appointed by HM King Hamad bin Isa Alkhalifa as a commissioner in the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission from 2015 – 2019.

He published many articles related to his field in the local newspapers and conducted many television interviews, which are also related to his field.
