About Mobility
The mobility program at Ahlia University allows you to experience studying abroad for one or two semesters at the undergraduate level and transfer credits back to Ahlia University upon successful course completion. You will receive the diploma from Ahlia University upon successful completion of your studies. Credits earned abroad during the mobility period will be transferred to Ahlia University, leading to your degree, provided all conditions and requirements are met.
For specific questions, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions section below, where we address most common concerns regarding mobility.
What Mobility Options We Offer to Ahlia’s Students?
1. Exchange
Exchange programmes allow undergraduate students of Ahlia University to study for one or two semesters at one of our international partner universities with whom we have established a partnership or formal exchange agreement. These agreements pre-arrange the mobility framework, ensuring compatibility of programmes, standardised procedures, and exemption from additional tuition fees for participating students.
Exchange students will receive their degree from Ahlia University as their home institution, along with a transcript of records confirming their semester or year abroad. To be eligible, students must have completed at least one full year of studies before applying. Mobility can take place during the 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate studies. Additionally, a mobility agreement and learning agreement must be signed before the start of the programme.
Please consult the list of partner universities in this section and contact the academic coordinator at your Ahlia college for support in identifying equivalent courses and preparing your learning agreement proposal.
Fees
The best part: there are no extra costs. Eligible exchange students from Ahlia University are exempt from paying additional tuition fees to partner universities and will continue to pay standard tuition fees directly to Ahlia University.
2. Individual Visits
Ahlia University allows its students to study at a foreign university of their choice for one or two semesters, even if no official exchange agreement exists!
In such cases, students must take responsibility for identifying a suitable university with a matching study programme. This includes gathering detailed information about potential courses (descriptions, learning outcomes, ECTS/credits, hours, etc.) and presenting these clearly to the Academic Coordinator at their Ahlia college. The Academic Coordinator will assist in preparing a Learning Agreement proposal.
Students are also required to contact the relevant office at the desired university to obtain accurate information on application procedures, timelines, deadlines, contact persons, and any potential fees that they may be charged. Once all the necessary information is gathered, you may contact Ahlia’s Directorate for Communications and International Relations for further assistance.
Individual visiting students must secure approval for their mobility and have their Learning Agreement approved by both universities. You may download the Learning Agreement template from the “Downloads” page of this section.
Fees
Individual visiting students may be required to pay fees to the foreign university. Please note that this payment process is entirely managed, supervised, and completed by the students themselves. Ahlia University may, at its discretion, partially or fully exempt individual visiting students from paying regular tuition fees during their stay at the foreign university, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
3. Short Term Stays and Summer Schools
Summer schools offer exposure to diverse teaching styles and provide opportunities for in-depth exploration of subjects beyond the regular curriculum. They also foster networking, boost confidence, and enhance students’ CVs. We strongly encourage our students to enrol in these programmes.
We recommend that our students first explore the summer school offerings of our foreign partner institutions to gain international experience. Undergraduate students at Ahlia University can participate in summer school programmes offered by Ahlia’s partner institutions at discounted rates.
For students unable to find suitable programmes abroad or who cannot travel, we invite them to consider Ahlia’s own summer and seasonal schools. These local programmes provide equally enriching experiences, featuring intense, hands-on learning opportunities that complement regular studies. Ahlia’s summer schools allow students to benefit from expert instruction, small class sizes, and practical applications of knowledge, all within the comfort of a familiar environment.
In both cases, students must register with the International Relations Office and submit the required documents.

Each announcement will detail specific fees and application procedures, which typically involve submitting a CV, a motivational letter, a completed application form, and proof of academic standing. Additional requirements may include language proficiency certificates, letters of recommendation, and a copy of your passport.
Fees
For short programmes abroad, participation fees are paid directly to the host university, and students are responsible for travel costs. Accommodation may be offered free of charge, subject to availability and individual arrangements.
For local short programmes and seasonal schools organised by Ahlia, our students benefit from discounted participation fees.
