Azam Abdelhakeem Khalid Ahmed received his doctorate in 2016 from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Dr Azam has taught courses in accounting. Additionally, Dr Azam has published papers in different fields of Accounting, Shariah auditing, Islamic accounting, Islamic banking and finance, Waqf, Zakah, Shariah supervisory board and serves as a member of the editorial boards of international journals and conferences. He has served his community by publishing numerous articles in the newspaper, delivering a number of training courses, developing and improving academic programs of other universities, being program reviewer and chairing sessions in a number of Bahraini conferences. Dr. Azam is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Aust.) and Certified Shariah Adviser and Auditor (CSAA, AAOIFI), holds a Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance (PCIF, INCEIF). Azam is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (AIIA).
