About Mobility
The mobility programme at Ahlia University allows undergraduate students to study abroad for one or two semesters. Credits earned during the mobility are transferred to Ahlia University and count toward the degree, provided all requirements are met. The diploma is awarded by Ahlia University upon successful completion of studies.

What mobility options do we offer to Ahlia students?
1. Exchange
Exchange students are Ahlia University undergraduates who study for one or two semesters at an international partner university under a formal exchange agreement, which ensures programme compatibility and standardised procedures. Students remain enrolled at Ahlia, receive their degree from Ahlia University, and obtain a transcript confirming their study period abroad.
Eligibility requires completion of at least one year of study, with mobility normally taking place in the 3rd year (exceptionally the 4th year). A mobility agreement and a learning agreement must be signed before departure. Students should consult the list of partner universities and contact their Ahlia academic coordinator for support in selecting equivalent courses and preparing the learning agreement.
Fees
The best part: there are no extra costs!
Eligible exchange students from Ahlia University are exempt from paying additional tuition fees to partner universities and will continue to pay standard tuition fees directly to Ahlia University.
2. Individual Visits
Ahlia University allows students to study for one or two semesters at a foreign university of their choice, even without a formal exchange agreement.
Students are responsible for identifying a compatible institution, collecting detailed course information (descriptions, learning outcomes, credits, hours, etc.), and working with their Academic Coordinator to prepare a Learning Agreement proposal. They must also liaise directly with the host university regarding procedures, deadlines, contacts, and any applicable fees.
Final mobility and Learning Agreement approval is required from both universities, with additional support provided by Ahlia’s Directorate for Communications and International Relations.
Fees
Individual visiting students may be required to pay tuition fees to the host university abroad. Any such payments are the sole responsibility of the student and are managed independently. Ahlia University may, at its discretion, grant a full or partial exemption from Ahlia’s tuition fees during the mobility period, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
3. Short Term Stays and Summer Schools
Summer schools offer valuable exposure to different teaching styles and topics beyond the regular curriculum, while enhancing CVs, building confidence, and expanding international networks. Ahlia strongly encourages students to seize these opportunities.
Students are advised to explore summer schools offered by Ahlia’s international partner institutions, often available at discounted rates. For those unable to travel, Ahlia’s own seasonal schools offer intensive, hands-on learning with expert instructors in a familiar setting.
Participation requires registration with the International Relations Office and submission of the required documents. Details of upcoming programmes, fees, and application requirements are available in each announcement.
Applications usually require: CV, Motivational letter, Completed application form, Proof of academic standing. Additional requirements may include language certificates, recommendation letters, and a copy of your passport.
Fees
Participation fees are paid directly to the host university, and students are responsible for travel costs. Accommodation may be offered free of charge, subject to availability and individual arrangements.
For local short programmes and seasonal schools organised by Ahlia, our students benefit from discounted participation fees.
