Mobility Options & Fees

The mobility program at Ahlia University allows you to study with us for one or two semesters at the undergraduate level and transfer credits back to your home university upon successful course completion. You will receive the diploma from your home university upon successful completion of your studies. Credits earned at Ahlia University during the mobility period will be transferred to your home university, provided all conditions and requirements are met.

What Mobility Options We Offer to Foreign Students?

1. Exchange:

   Exchange students are those enrolled at our partner universities that have an established partnership or formal exchange agreement with Ahlia University. These students receive their degree from their home university, along with a transcript of records confirming their semester or year spent at Ahlia.

   Exchange students from partner universities are exempt from paying additional tuition fees to Ahlia. To be eligible, prospective exchange students must have completed at least one full year of studies before applying.

   Additionally, a mobility agreement and learning agreement must be signed before the start of the program. For initial guidance, please consult the list of partner universities in this section and contact your university’s relevant office.

   Fees: Exchange students pay no fees to Ahlia. They continue to pay fees to their home institution, if applicable.

2. Individual Visits:

   Students can study at Ahlia University for up to one academic year even if their home university does not have an official exchange agreement with Ahlia. In this case, students are required to pay the semestral fee. Apart from this, most conditions remain the same as for exchange students. Individual visiting students must meet eligibility requirements, obtain approval for their mobility from their home university, and have their learning agreement approved by both Ahlia University and their home institution.

   Fees: Visiting students pay a semestral fee, charged per credit hour enrolled during their stay at Ahlia. The fees for postgraduate studies: BD 160 per credit-hour for each semester. The fees for undergraduate studies vary between 100 – 130 BD per credit hour, as shown in the table below:

3. Short Term and Summer Schools:

   Ahlia University offers engaging short-term academic experiences through various programmes and winter schools. These intensive courses provide unique opportunities for international students to explore specific topics, gain practical skills, and immerse themselves in Bahrain’s culture. Our short programmes typically involve workshops, field visits to local companies and institutions, and hands-on learning experiences within specific industries or themes. We also host “winter schools,” taking advantage of Bahrain’s pleasant weather during this season. Winter schools at Ahlia University typically last 1 to 2 weeks and engage participants in a mix of lectures, workshops, group projects, and cultural activities.

   Each announcement will include specific fees and application procedures, which generally involve submitting a CV, motivational letter, completed application form, and proof of academic standing. Additional requirements may include language proficiency certificates, letters of recommendation, and a copy of your passport.
