Preface
This year, Ahlia University is organizing the 2nd conference in interior design, with the theme of “Inspiration and Innovation Design Trends”.
The hybrid event will be held from January 27-28, 2025, with the first day being physical and featuring scientific content from leading experts followed by a hybrid second day dedicated to a virtual participation of scientific content and series of practical workshops for students and young professionals.
The conference will offer a valuable platform for networking and integrating with both professional and academic communities. Renowned experts will be featured as keynote speakers. It is anticipated that the event will attract around 100 participants, including academics, professionals, young practitioners, and students in the field of architecture and interior design from Bahrain and beyond. This event aims to encourage critical thinking, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and inspire innovation in the field of interior design.
Aim
The IIDT 2025 conference aims to bring together leading academics, researchers, students, and experts from the industry to share their experiences and research findings on a variety of topics in Architecture and design such as:
The two-day conference aims to create a platform for practitioners from diverse fields who can collaborate to facilitate sustainable innovation through exchanging ideas, analyses, and best practices.
On the first day the conference will offer a series of physical informative sessions and discussion related to design. On the second day, during the morning, a set of virtual presentations will be held via Microsoft teams, followed by a series of physical workshops related to design communication skills, materials and colors that will be hosted at Ahlia University campus.
The audience will benefit from hybrid conference research sessions and practical workshops, discussing special topics in design and learning essential skills that are important for young designers and design students.

IIDT25 will be scheduled from January 27th – 28th 2025. About the workshop (Extended) | In this workshop, engineer Masooma Groof will present her vision on how to build a strong design identity that distinguishes your projects and achieves a balance between local needs and international standards. It will also address the importance of furniture as an integral part of design identity, and how furniture design can be an influential element in creating a distinctive design brand that qualifies you to expand beyond the borders of Bahrain. In the world of interior design, design identity is not just choosing colors or coordinating shapes, but rather an integrated vision that reflects the designer’s style and philosophy and adds unique value to each project. This identity not only affects the success of design projects, but also extends to all associated elements, such as furniture design, which plays a pivotal role in completing the design image. |

Short Summary | Visual culture is the basis of the photography process. The scene is concerned with a part of that perspective that is seen directly by observing the eye through the camera lens, and visualization or imagination is a key component in the success of the photograph; This is through: looking at the photographic scene and analysing it and then forming the photograph. One of the most important components of photography is the possibility of transforming part of a regular landscape into a distinctive shot, and the success of the image depends on highlighting the meaning for which the image is portrayed, achieved through the depth and culture of the photographer and his own ability to control the affecting accompanying techniques in the image. |

Short Summary | The “Creative Mosaics: Building Art Through Pieces” workshop invites participants to explore the art of mosaic creation. Over 2 hours, attendees will learn about various techniques, materials, and design principles to craft unique mosaic pieces. The workshop emphasizes creativity and self-expression, allowing participants to transform ordinary materials into stunning artworks. Guided by experienced instructor, Dr. Hasan Saeed, participants will gain hands-on experience in cutting, arranging, and adhering tiles and other materials. By the end, each artist will leave with their own completed mosaic project, along with the skills and inspiration to continue their mosaic journey at home. |

Abstract submission
The IIDT 2025 conference will consider high-quality papers that undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers.
The conference welcomes submissions that demonstrate clear significance, originality, and contributions to academic literature and industry.
