Dr. Amani Alaali is a cross-disciplinary academic, designer and entrepreneur whose work brings together design, management and innovation. She holds a PhD from Northumbria University, where her doctoral research examined how global brands localise spatial experiences across different cultural contexts. This work combined brand management, design management, experience design, localisation and interior and spatial design. She also holds a Master’s degree in Design and a BA in Interior Design from Northumbria University.
Her academic and professional interests span design strategy and management, global branding, cultural context, spatial experience, design education, sustainability and technology-enabled innovation. Her approach is grounded in connecting research and design thinking with practical industry challenges and real-world application.
Alongside academia, she has worked in professional design practice and co-founded a design-tech venture addressing material sourcing and procurement challenges in the design and construction sector. Her entrepreneurship work extends this cross-disciplinary approach through innovation, collaboration and the development of practical solutions that connect academic knowledge with market needs.
She is an Associate Fellow of Advance HE (AFHEA).
