AI Excels in Producing Scientific Research
The Professional Development Activity at Ahlia University organized a workshop titled “ChatGPT Uses in Scientific Research”, delivered by Acting Dean of Graduate Studies and Research Prof. Mohmoud Abdel-aty, who stated that the artificial intelligence excels in producing scientific papers.
The workshop aimed to introduce the ChatGPT and its applications in scientific research. ChatGPT is trained to follow an instruction in a prompt and provide a detailed information according to the data entered by the user. It can produce a whole scientific research paper because of its ability to access all databases worldwide and generate accurate information. This has led international journals to consider ChatGPT as an author and must be included in the reference and citation, as technologies such as Turnitin can detect whether the research paper has been produced using ChatGPT or not.
Prof. Abdel-Aty recommended using the ChatGPT as a reference in writing a research paper introduction with implementing the necessary modification to the results provided by ChatGPT, in addition to using it as a helping tool in rewriting the research paper title, summarizing the content, and adjusting the reference list.
Prof. Abdel-Aty pointed out that ChatGPT considered a negative and misleading factor for beginners who rely completely on it in writing their research papers.
