AL-Care is a comprehensive integrated health care system developed in Bahrain. It has all the characteristics of Bahrain its uniqueness and its diversity. It had been developed by Bahraini expertise to cater for the needs of one of its large health institutes. It has the potential to be the health care system for the kingdom to provide a central medical record for all the population of Bahrain that can be accessed from any health establishment in the kingdom. This unique ambitious vision is possible with all the advantages of providing effective efficient health care services for the people of Bahrain. It will facilitate the ability of the government to implement any health insurance system, provide detailed reports about health statistics trends of the health care system. The system formed of 152 modules
covers all the administrative clinical and financial activities. It has comprehensive costing module can calculate the cost per patient per department per doctor per diagnosis through the integrated information form the different module. These integrated comprehensive reports, which can be produced by the system, will help the decision makers to take the right decisions in the right time. This information will facilitate the prediction of future needs and the best options to use our resources. Importantly, in 1998 the first and operational version of the AL-Care
system was sold to an international company based in Denver Colorado, USA along with my international consultation. While the latest oracle web based version has gained acceptance and interest from local organization.
