Dr. Ammar Al-Hawaj and Dr. Fatima Aldhaen of Ahlia University participated in the SAMYRAD 2026 international scientific conference, held at Universidad CEU Fernando III in Seville, Spain, on 5–6 October 2026, presenting a paper on artificial intelligence and advancing educational innovation.
The paper explored the role of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) in advancing responsible AI-enabled educational innovation, examining how explanations provided by XAI systems can help students and faculty understand and critically evaluate their outputs, encouraging informed use of these technologies in higher education.
It also addressed the importance of integrating pedagogical and ethical considerations into the design of XAI applications, focusing on transparency, trust, accountability and fairness, and their role in strengthening learner agency and knowledge co-creation.
Technically co-sponsored by IEEE, the conference brought together researchers, academics and specialists to discuss the intersection of artificial intelligence and education, sharing perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of integrating intelligent technologies into educational practice.
The participation reflects Ahlia University’s commitment to strengthening its international research presence, exchanging expertise and advancing knowledge in digital transformation and educational innovation, in line with its Strategic Plan 2026–2030.
