  • Managing strategic communications to build our global reputation

Whether you’re a student looking to study abroad, a faculty member interested in international collaboration, or a partner institution seeking to connect with Ahlia, we’re here to support you.

Communications

We use multiple communication channels to engage international audiences and strengthen Ahlia’s reputation as a centre of academic excellence and cultural exchange in the Gulf. Strategic communications are an integral part of Ahlia’s international relations, focused on the global promotion of the university’s achievements and the design and implementation of targeted communication.

Our work includes showcasing academic and research outputs, highlighting Ahlia’s contributions in the Arab context, managing digital and international online presence, supporting global partnerships, and maintaining effective communication with international stakeholders.

The scope of our work advances Ahlia’s mission by strengthening reputation, stakeholder engagement, and internal capacity through strategic international communication activities:

Internationalisation

Internationalisation is central to Ahlia University’s identity and shapes all aspects of the institution through a continuous, evolving process.

Internationalisation Committee

AU Internationalisation Committee oversees international strategy and the evaluation of global initiatives, bringing together academic and professional leaders to advance the university’s international goals. For details on its members and work, visit the committee’s page here.

International Education at Ahlia

Ahlia University embraces internationalisation through multiple channels:

  • English-taught courses: All our programmes are delivered in English.
  • Diverse community: Our university family comprises over 40 nationalities.
  • International faculty: We employ educators from around the world.
  • Global research impact: Our faculty regularly publishes in international journals.

Ranking and Accreditations

Our internationalisation efforts are reflected in global rankings and professional accreditations:

  • International rankings indicate our academic quality and research impact.
  • Professional accreditations confirm that our programmes meet global standards and prepare graduates for their professions.

Internationalisation Plan

  • Our internationalisation plan focuses on:
  • Enhancing global partnerships and collaborations
  • Increasing student and faculty mobility
  • Integrating international perspectives into curricula
  • Promoting Arab academic, research, and professional excellence abroad
  • Supporting cross-cultural research initiatives

View the plan outline here. The full strategy, with action sub-plans and KPIs, is available to the implementation teams.

Staff Mobility

Teaching and professional staff, just like students, are eligible for mobility programmes, though their stays are typically shorter.

Professional staff use mobility to gain and share knowledge, skills and expertise. Academic staff often focus on joint projects, research collaboration, improving teaching practices, and delivering lectures.

Staff are encouraged to explore options with partner or other international universities. Academic staff should secure an invitation letter outlining the purpose and proposed dates of the visit.

Submit your mobility proposal to the Directorate of Communications and International Relations for assistance in identifying suitable opportunities.
