In line with Ahlia University Research Strategies, the university welcome funding interdisciplinary science research within applicable disciplines, funding supported through offering research grants, coverage of open access publication, covering conference attendance and research incentives for international collaboration. The funding support could be obtained through formal application made to the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research that is evaluated through University Research Ethics Committee and approved by University Council.
Ahlia University aims to produce high quality research with visible impact and hence, the university provide international access to partnering universities and research centres. Faculty could grant access to different universities in the UK and MENA region through the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research in collaboration with the Directorate of International Relations.
Faculty Research Facilities:
Faculty could opt for administrative support, access to physical and electronic resources and funding for external accessibility.
Faculty members with research teams, will have a designated research rooms for meetings, with laptop and e-databases access.
All requests should be made to the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research, subjected to review and approval against, visibility, impact, ethical consideration and cultural sensitivity.
Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR)
In line with National Strategies 2030, Ahlia University is applying Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) that focuses on three major steps input, process and output. The ISR is streamlined with the University Strategy 2026-2030 by allocating a specific funding for Interdisciplinary science research and setting target to conduct research industry focused with direct impact.
Faculty obtaining research funding will be subjected to evaluation during the process to ensure successful completion, the review will be conducted by Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research in collaboration with Research Ethics Committee and Centre for Measurement and Evaluation to measure success and research impact.
In terms of output, faculty obtaining any research funding from Ahlia University must publish the research in classified scientific journals or approved case study centres.
Directorate of Strategic Planning in coordination with Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research will generate an annual performance report in line with the Research Strategy set targets, which includes several outputs including published research in interdisciplinary science research within applicable disciplines, citation growth, field weighted citation impact, quality of publication etc.
Faculty Evaluation and Promotion:
Ahlia University has a fair and transparent mechanism for faculty evaluation and academic rank promotion. Interdisciplinary science research within applicable disciplines is a major criterion for faculty annual evaluation and academic rank promotion. The university have a detailed faculty evaluation and promotion process that includes publication in Interdisciplinary science research, research citation, international collaboration, industry collaboration etc.
