The Founding President and one of its senior academics have showcased an inspiring Bahraini humanitarian story at the historic Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate.
Prof. Abdulla Al-Hawaj, Founding President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahlia University, joined Prof. Fouad Shehab, a senior academic at the University, for the launch of the third edition of Prof. Shehab’s acclaimed book “My Beloved Daughter… I Named Her Maryam.”
The launch, held in the renowned Heikal Hall in Cairo, drew a distinguished audience of Arab officials, diplomats, academics and media figures. The event highlighted Bahrain’s ability to produce cultural and humanitarian initiatives that resonate across the Arab world.
Prof. Al-Hawaj praised the strong strategic and fraternal ties between Bahrain and Egypt.
“Launching this work from Cairo is a tribute to Egypt’s historic role and a reaffirmation of the deep cultural partnership between our two countries,” he said.
He added that the initiative reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to strengthen cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Prof. Shehab, meanwhile, shared the personal journey that inspired his book, describing years of dedication and support for his daughter Maryam. He transformed what began as a family challenge into a success story that now stands as a beacon of Bahraini resilience and humanity.
The professors highlighted how Bahrain’s supportive environment enabled them to establish specialised associations, collaborate with leading international medical centres, and bring global recognition to their work.
The evening reinforced Bahrain’s growing role as a cultural and humanitarian hub, capable of launching initiatives that leave a lasting mark on the Arab world.
