INTRODUCTION
COVID 19 impacted the society and lifestyle of the people. People are forced to work from home. Children are forced to study from home. Technology took the front seat in our daily life after the pandemic. There is paradigm shift noticed in the psychology, skillsets, and mindsets of the people. This webinar is addressing the changing graduate attributes and skillsets so that they will meet the future job market expectations. During this panel discussion, panellists will share their experience and insights how skillsets and graduate attributes are changing in their respective field. They will also advise to the participants how they can acquire new attributes and skills.
The panel consist of industry leaders ranging from service sector to manufacturing. Some of them have vast working experience with governments, along with private sector. These panellists are sharing experiences from Canada, London, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Mumbai and Bahrain.
COVID 19 and rapid technology adoption also brought many new opportunities of flexible learning without any time and travel restrictions. This panel discussion aims to discuss the new opportunities of learnings as well. The takeaway of this panel discussion will be change in strategies of the decision makers of the universities and HEIs for inculcation of new skills and attributes in future graduates.

In his role, William advocates for the highest standards of practice and ethics in the investment management industry through the promotion of financial market integrity and transparency among regional policy makers and regulators.
William brings a wealth of experience in building a presence in new markets, deep local knowledge, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit to develop the CFA Institute hub in MENA.
He partners with local MENA society leaders to assist with the expansion of their networks, contributing to the further professionalisation of the investment management industry in this flourishing region.
Prior to joining CFA Institute, William was Director, Institutional Business Development at Lazard, where he developed the sovereign institutional client business in the Middle East, covering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain. Prior to this role, he was Director, Middle Eastern Institutions, Alliance Bernstein Middle East.
William graduated with a Masters of Advanced Studies (D.E.A.) in Finance, Monetary Sciences and Banking from the Université Paris II in 2001 (Honours) and earned his CFA charter in 2009.
William is fluent in English and a native speaker of French and Arabic.
Dr. Wichai Turongpun
Dr. Wichai Turongpun is Regional Head of Global Economics and Business Strategy for the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Pakistan at Abbott Laboratories. His specializations span macroeconomics, risk management, and pricing strategy.
Prior to this, he was Chief economist at Bank ABC (Arab Banking Corporation) in Bahrain, Acting Head of Economics and Research at Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP) in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Development Economics at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Thailand, The World bank’s advisor, and The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP)’s economist.
Dr. Wichai received his BSc. (1st Class Hons.) in Biotechnology from Kasetsart University, Thailand, Master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and PhD in Development Economics from Cornell. He and his family live in Dubai, UAE.

Sunil is a senior management professional (Ex CEO & Managing Director) with global experience. In career spanning three decades, he possesses well-rounded experience in business management – from developing business strategies to managing operations to providing Board-level oversight & Governance. Have worked across a range of consumer markets including Africa, Asia, Middle East & Singapore / ASEAN. With over 30 years of corporate experience as a senior leader, management consultant, executive coach and mentor, Sunil Deshmukh specializes in helping individuals and business to succeed.
Sunil brings a wealth of business knowledge, management acumen and rich experience in leadership and positive psychology. A trusted advisor, Sunil hones leaders’ abilities to envision, strategize and achieve short-term and long-term organizational goals. Through personalized one-on-one and group interactions, Sunil identifies obstacles and motivates CXOs to catalyze change and develop a ‘growth mindset’. As an Executive coach and mentor, he works closely with CXOs, corporate professionals and SME owners, sharing tools, ideas and experiences to help them move forward and grow.
Sunil is passionate about helping individuals gain fulfillment in their work through an enhanced understanding of their own natural potential, strengths and talents. (Jordan), McDonald’s India and Foster’s India Ltd etc. He is a regular speaker at distinguished events conducted by industry bodies, educational institutes and think tanks.
