Dr. Reem Jasim is an Assistant Professor at the College of Business and Finance, Ahlia University, specializing in entrepreneurship, innovation, and applied economics. She holds a PhD in Economics and Entrepreneurship from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany, where her research focused on digital entrepreneurship, resilience, and the socio-cultural drivers of innovation in emerging and Arab economies.
Dr. Jasim is an award-winning researcher with publications and conference presentations in leading international journals and forums, including Small Business Economics. Her work has received international recognition, including Best Paper and Emerging Scholar awards at Babson College’s DIRI Conference, highlighting her contribution to advancing entrepreneurship research with strong methodological innovation, societal and policy relevance.
Alongside her academic career, Dr. Jasim brings over 15 years of senior executive experience across public and private sectors, having held leadership roles in enterprise risk management, corporate governance, quality assurance, and strategic planning. She has led national-level risk and fraud prevention initiatives, implemented ISO-accredited management systems, and driven large-scale organizational transformation using advanced Six Sigma methodology (Black Belt) and process reengineering methodologies.
Dr. Jasim is also an experienced educator, teaching entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, Islamic finance, strategic management, and econometrics. Her teaching philosophy bridges theory and practice, equipping students with analytical rigor, ethical awareness, and real-world problem-solving skills.
Her research interests include digital entrepreneurship, women’s entrepreneurship, innovation resilience, institutional and cultural contexts, and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. She actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for high-impact journals and through international research collaborations.
