Al-Binkhalil: Artificial Intelligence is a Necessity for the Media Industry

Ahlia University successfully hosted the First PhD Forum on Digital Media and Communication Technology at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, bringing together leading media professionals, researchers, and students from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the media landscape.

As part of the forum’s proceedings, Mr. Yousef Al-Binkhalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, presented a research paper titled “Media and Artificial Intelligence: Innovation and Creativity in Shaping the Future.” In his presentation, Al-Binkhalil emphasized that AI is no longer a luxury but a necessity for any media institution aiming to stay competitive in today’s fast-evolving digital landscape.

He highlighted the need for media organizations to adopt data-driven strategies and intelligent analytics to keep pace with rapid technological advancements. He also addressed key challenges associated with AI in media, including privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and the potential loss of human creativity. Despite these challenges, Al-Binkhalil asserted that AI offers significant opportunities for enhancing media content, enabling the creation of high-quality and innovative material rather than relying on traditional formats.
