Ahlia University Hosts “Features from Bahrain’s Civilization” Exhibition

A Cultural Week at Ahlia University In collaboration with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities Ahlia University Hosts “Features from Bahrain’s Civilization” Exhibition.

On 11th November 2023, Ahlia University hosted a touring exhibition for one week, in collaboration with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiques, titled ““Features from Bahrain’s Civilization”. The exhibition combined curated historical documents and texts, captivation images, and informative video clips. It also provided invaluable insights into the pivotal role of those sites and monuments in the Kingdom’s history, spanning the ancient Dilmun period through to the Islamic era and up to modern Bahrain under the royal family (Al Khalifa) ruling era.

Dr. Salman Al Mahari, Director of the Museums and Antiquities Directorate, delivered an opening speech, giving a detailed explanation of the most prominent antiquities of Bahrain, such as the Dilmun Burial Mounds, Diraz Tamople, Qal’at Al-Bahrain: Ancient Harbour and Capital of Dilmun, Saar Archaeological Site, Khamis Mosque, Pearling, Testimony of an Island Economy, Ain Umm Al-Sujur, Barbar Tample, A’ali Royal Mounds, A’ali Islamic Settlement, and Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort.

For his part, Prof. Mansoor Alaali, Ahlia University President, praised this initiative, stressing that the University is keen to introduce the Bahraini heritage to the academics, researchers, and students from all around the world, noting that the Deanship of Students affairs also organises cultural trips for the university’s students.
