Summary

Ms. Elham Hassan Ebrahim Hassan Ahmed is a lecturer in the Department of Management Information Systems. Ms. Elham was born in 1983. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor in Computer Science, both from University of Bahrain and being on the University first honour list. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, Ms. Elham joined University of Bahrain as Lab Demonstrator in the Department of Computer Engineering.
After gaining seven years academic and administrative experience in the University of Bahrain, she successfully joined Ahlia University of Bahrain as a lecturer in the Department of Management Information Systems in 2013. Since joining Ahlia, Ms. Elham has taught courses in the departments of Management Information Systems and of Information Technology.

Throughout her academic studies, Ms. Elham had been a top honoured student and she was awarded various distinction certificates as follows:

  • Received Abu Kamel Al Haseb Award for her academic distinction during her Bachelor Degree study and was honoured by His Royal Highness the Prince Sheik Khalifa Bin Salman AL- Khalifa, the Prime-Minister of Bahrain, in the University of Bahrain Graduation Ceremony (2008/2009).
  • Honoured by His Excellence Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, the Bahraini Minister of Education, for her academic distinction during her Master Degree study, in the University of Bahrain Graduation Ceremony (2014/2015)

Research

Ms. Elham’s Master Dissertation was on leadership. In her thesis, she examined the relationship between Leader-Member Exchange and Perceptions of Organisational Justice among members of Bahraini workgroups.
Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Based Systems, Data Mining and Ethics of Information Technology are some of the research areas where Ms. Elham’s interest lies.

Teaching

As a Lab Demonstrator in the Department of Computer Engineering in the University of Bahrain, Ms. Elham was in charge of demonstrating the practical aspects of a number of Network and Data Communication, Micro-processing and Digital Logic and Design courses. However, since joining Ahlia, Ms. Elham has been involved in teaching a number of courses for students enrolled in the Colleges of Business and Finance, Information Technology and Engineering as follows:

  • Ethics and Professional Practice in IT and Engineering
