About the degree programme
The BSc in Information Technology prepares students to become fully skilled not only in the wider spectrum of the computing industry but also in the design, implementation and use of information technology. Students gain thorough knowledge of the components of computer systems and the role of operating systems instilling expertise in programming languages, advanced applications, databases and expert systems.
As part of the degree programme, all students gain the Oracle 10g Database Administrator Professional Certificate allowing our graduates to be fully qualified as database administrators in the Oracle 10g version. This qualification ensures our students gain success as an oracle professional in the field of database administration and means that all graduates leave Ahlia with all the necessary certificates to be fully qualified for employment in the IT industry.
The certificate track is divided into four inter-dependent courses; the first is compulsory and is taken as part of the third year of the programme with the remaining three courses available as optional electives for students to choose from.
