Biography

Zainab Alghasra joined Ahlia University in June 2015 as a Lecturer in the College of Business and Finance. Zainab holds a Master of Accounting degree from The Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Law from The Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A.

Zainab is a qualified lawyer, she is also a certified in-house legal counsel (ICC) by the Association of Corporate Counsel, Washington D.C. she is also a certified commercial arbitrator by GCCCAC. Zainab is a member of the MC Academy for International Legal Studies, Brussels, Belgium, she is also a recognized scholar by the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Washington D.C.

Besides lecturing at Ahlia University, Zainab is responsible for governance, compliance and legal affairs. In 2017, Zainab represented AU at the United Nations Headquarters in New York by serving as a youth delegate for SDG number 16, focusing on peace, justice and strong institutions. Zainab is an international award winner, she has won three international awards; one award for the best scientific innovation and two awards for the best creative writing. she has also won The President’s Freshman Award at The Pennsylvania State University for academic and leadership excellence.

During the time she spent at the Pennsylvania State University, Zainab worked as a Tutor for undergraduate students, Zainab also served as a student mentor, responsible for giving academic and social advice to new students. Zainab has previously interned for some major enterprises in Bahrain, including the Economic Development Board (EDB), KPMG and GPIC.

Zainab’s interests include Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), international commercial arbitration, forensic accounting, corporate governance, corporate ethics and corporate social responsibility.
