Biography

Dr. Baraa is a Ph.D. holder in “Information Science and Technology” from National University of Malaysia, since 2015. His BSc and MSc are both in IT. His minor specialization area and concern are “Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Dr. Baraa professional & academic experiences are around nine years up to the present. He has joined the Ahlia University as assistant professor since 2016. His previous work was at UKM and AlMadinah international universities in Malaysia.

Dr. Baraa has published many research papers in international refereed journals and has attending and contributing to international refereed conferences. He has been appointed as international advisory reviewer in several international journals and conferences. He has awarded Certificate of excellence for best researcher in UKM- Malaysia 2014 and a ‘Certificate of appreciation’ from the ministry of higher education and scientific research of Iraq on July 7, 2013. Furthermore, acquired several certifications from Ahlia University for publishing research papers in high impact journals. In addition, he has teaching and supervision experience at both under- and postgraduate studies.

Dr. Baraa joined as an experienced faculty many committees in the university and college levels, one of them is an active member in the ABET accreditation team at Ahlia University. Moreover, he is a member of a number of scientific and professional societies, such as, IEEE and ACM. Dr. Baraa has many quality wise skills in teaching, programing, teamwork spirit and other technical issues. His comprehensive and integrated IT & academic skills are granted his excellent seeking and innovative mindset faculty. His interest in research is rich in many areas such as, Information retrieval, natural language processing, Intelligent systems, Machine learning, Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Wireless network operation and structure, Knowledge discovery.
