The Counseling and Guidance Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs at Ahlia University, in collaboration with an Ahlia University student, organized a training workshop entitled “Introduction to Sign Language” on February 14, 2026, at the University’s Main Hall. The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of sign language and enhance communication skills with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of sign language and highlighted its importance in facilitating communication with the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. It also covered a range of basic signs and expressions commonly used in daily life, accompanied by practical activities that helped participants develop a better understanding of the language.
The workshop witnessed positive engagement from students as well as academic and administrative staff members, reflecting a strong interest in learning sign language skills and promoting greater inclusion within the university community.
