Blue skies, beaches, beautiful landscapes, the Forumla One racing circuit, an open and diverse culture, great shopping, central to Europe and Asia and the most breath taking sunsets, and many, many more reasons make Bahrain a great place to spend your year abroad.
The 2015 Expat Explorer survey, commissioned by the HSBC Exact, ranked Bahrain 4th overall in the best places in the world to be an expatriate. The list was topped by Singapore, followed by New Zealand, Sweden and then Bahrain.

Living in Bahrain
Bahrain has a rich cultural history the can be traced backt to 2000 B.C., including Bahrain’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Bahrain Fort, the Manama market and Bab Al-Bahrain, which houses some of the first goldsmith and pearl shops in the country.
Bahrain is considered one of the healthiest countries in the Gulf, as well as having one of the most advance healthcare systems in the region. There is more medical staff (doctors, nurses and dentists) per population in Bahrain than any other country in the G.C.C. The country’s healthcare system includes four state-sponsored hospitals, 14 private institutions and a large number of clinics and maternity hospitals.
Accommodation
The university campus does not include dormitories, but the DIR Staff will assist in finding suitable accommodation. For this reason, it is advised that you start looking for accommodation before arriving in Bahrain to ease the process and transition at the beginning of your period of stay. There are several real estate agencies that can aid you in finding a place when you are in Bahrain. Sharing an apartment with a fellow international student can help you contain costs as well as ensure companionship during your free time.
