About the degree programme
Interior Design is both an art and a science that involves the adaptation of natural and human made environments, not only in the cultural, social, economic and behavioural activities but also in the physiological and psychological attributes of people. Different interior design dynamics apply to public as opposed to private buildings. The focus of interior design is to satisfy the needs of the people using the space. The quality of the interior environment is determined by how well it satisfies the users needs and their preferences for functions, materials and aesthetics.
The programme provides students with both a theoretical and practical knowledge in design and organization of inner spaces. Students also learn the use of the latest technology including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch-up and 3D Max.
During the first three years of the programme, students study the theory behind interior design. In the final year, students master their knowledge through a final year research and design project and have the opportunity to choose elective courses giving the opportunity to specialize in a field of their choice.
