Full-Time Health & Safety Officer

The main responsibility of the job holder is to develop and implement Health and Safety best practices, ensuring the university complies with current health and safety legislation, and approved codes of practice; also working supervisor of a crew of security guards who patrol and check University buildings and facilities.

  • To ensure the Company’s Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the organization.
  • To work with senior employees and staff to ensure risk assessments are prepared and reviewed, as necessary.
  • To manage the collection, storage and analysis of accident and other health and safety data and to produce management reports, identify trends and recommend action.
  • To support directors or centers in the development and implementation of effective Business Continuity plans to minimize disruption to critical functions.
  • Liaise with other sections within the directorate to improve environmental planning, policies, procedures to be reported to admin services director.
  • To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures and identify and implement improvements.
  • Lead any necessary accident/incident investigation and reporting.
  • Assists in development of security policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for university facilities security and an effective key control program.
  • Update the director of administrative services day to day work accomplishments and issues that need to be resolved.
  • Prepare security manpower rosters and duties.
  • Responsible for crisis and disaster planning.
  • Make arrangements for security certification and other training/workshops appropriate for security personnel.
  • Occupational health & safety compliance monitoring with civil defense.
  • Supervise, monitor and develops all facilities cleaning procedures and manpower.
  • Updates the building emergency plan, as well as signage for emergency evacuation routes and location of the assembly area. Updates emergency notification lists, critical utility lists, and staff checklists.
  • Manage and supervise cleaning services.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Certification in safety management (NEBOSH Certificate diploma or equivalent); certification in quality management would be advantageous.
  • 5 years’ work experience in a similar work environment.
  • Experience in dealing with emergency evacuation situations.
  • Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of legal methods, security equipment, policies and procedures of law enforcement, investigations, and security procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in Business continuity management.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team with good communication skills, stress management skills, effective verbal and listening skills, problem-solving skills, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to evaluate situations, make decisions, and react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Computer skills minimum Microsoft Office.

Full-Time/Part-Time Assistant Professor in Interior Design

The Interior Design Department is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of PhD in Interior Design with a focus on Sustainable Design. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in interior design, expertise in sustainable design principles, proficiency in computer software including AutoCAD, 3D Max, and Revit, teaching experience in higher education institutes, and excellent English skills.

  • Conduct research in the field of interior design with a specific emphasis on sustainable design practices.
  • Develop and teach courses related to interior design, sustainable design, and related topics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Mentor and advise students on research projects, theses, and dissertations in the field of interior design.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in sustainable design and incorporate them into teaching and research activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the interior design program, curriculum, and resources.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including publishing research findings in reputable journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
  • PhD in Interior Design or a related field is required from a reputational university.
  • Strong expertise and research focus in sustainable design within the context of interior design.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as AutoCAD, 3D Max, and Revit for design visualization and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching interior design or related subjects at the higher education level.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.
  • A record of scholarly publications and presentations in the field of interior design is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in sustainable design or related areas would be an asset.
