Ahlia’s MBA wins QAAET Confidence

The Master’s degree programme in Business Administration (MBA) offered by Ahlia University, passed the quality challenge and scored a “Confidence” rating in the review conducted by the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training (QAAET).

 

The review report, which was recently approved by the Cabinet, indicated that Ahlia was the only private university in Bahrain to receive a “Confidence” rating.

 

The Review Unit uses four indicators to measure the programme compatibility with the required quality standards. These indicators are: Curriculum, Efficiency, academic standard of graduates and effectiveness of quality measurement and assurance.

 

The report commended Ahlia’s MBA curriculum which was” carefully planned and structured with clear course prerequisites and programme entry criteria”. The Review Panel noted that the programme is efficient in terms of the use of available resources, the admitted students and the ratio of admitted students to successful graduates. The report also praised a number of areas where creative techniques to enhance student learning experience. Finally, the Higher Education Review Unit concluded that the MBA programme satisfies the requirements of quality management and assurance.

 

Professor Abdulla Al Hawaj, President of Ahlia University, said,” We are delighted to receive such a commendable recognition from QAAET”. He added that Ahlia’s MBA programme was one the most sought after because of the value it adds to people who pursue career development and knowledge expansion.  “We are proud of this achievement which came as a result of the continuous dedicated efforts by our staff to offer the best education to our students in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries”.

 

Ahlia MBA programme started in 2002 with eight students. The number of has been growing over the years. In the academic year 2011-2012 there were 292 MBA registered students.  In the last graduation ceremony held on 19th June, the University celebrated the graduation of 76 MBA students.
